Rockstar Announces A Collectible Kit for GTA 6, But You’ll be Paying a Premium
Wow, almost $400 for a box of trinkets? That’s a little much, don’t you think? I mean, you could buy a 45% stake in a PS5 Pro for that, and there’s only two items in there that are actually useful (three if you wear hats).
I did cover it yesterday, and I’m not sure if you can tell, but I was initially surprised by the price. I changed my mind. It’s totally justified, given that a single pair of Oakleys can put you $500 out of pocket, without even being GTA 6 branded. So, for what you get, it’s honestly not a bad price.
There’s also a bag and a hat and a bunch of trinkets in there, all from the GTA 6 version of Vice City. But $400 is a lot of money to spend for a few collectibles in this economy.
It’s a really cool kit if you’ve got some expendable income though, so definitely go give it a look. I just hope some actual GTA fans can get their hands on it before scalpers snap up the lot. I see that the pre-orders are still open at the time of writing. Also, it’s excluding shipping, just by the way.
This week I’m doing a banger from Trailer 1 (can you guess it?), we see the effect GTA 6 is already having on the industry and even on pro sports, and we try to answer more of those burning questions.
Stay safe out there.

THE HOTTEST NEWS THIS WEEK
Rainbow Six Siege Boss Admits GTA 6 Will Hurt the Game, But Ubisoft Has a Plan
I mean, Obviously the biggest story this week is that collection kit, but since I already spoke about that, did you hear about Siege’s plan to reward players that don’t hop over to GTA 6?
Any new GTA game is a big deal, obviously, but I’m always fascinated by the effect it has on other parts of the industry. So many have moved out launch dates to not fall within that nuclear GTA 6 launch zone, but now games are even doing events during that time.
I just wish we had a day one PC release. Really would have liked to see what sort of Steam records Rockstar could smash, but alas, we’ll never know.
Anyway, this is a nice idea, and I’m sure we can expect more live service games to follow suit. I just wonder, will any of the employees be around to make good on the event? Or will they all be playing GTA 6?

BANGER OF THE WEEK
Love Is A Long Road
Tom Petty · 1989 · GTA 6, Trailer 1
Want to hear something crazy? I have no memory of ever hearing this song before Trailer 1, and I even learned a couple Tom Petty (may he rest in peace) songs on the guitar — you have to at least know Free Fallin’ as a guitarist, right?
What blows my mind is that this song is so much better in my humble opinion, but it always took a back seat to Free Fallin’. Anyway, let’s give it a listen, shall we?
The rhythm of the song was reportedly inspired by riding a Harley. Isn’t that cool? No wonder it’s such a banger!
It’s also interesting that the song saw a 36,979% increase in Spotify listens after showing up in Trailer 1. I wonder why that is? Rockstar always had such great taste in music (pity about GTA the Album, huh?).

This week I’ve got a shot from the Extended Look, where Jason and Lucia are standing by the trunk of a car with weapons they had stowed in there.

I use this because it’s something I spoke about this week. Not being able to shove an arsenal of weapons up our bum in GTA 6 is great for RP, but at the same time, it feels like the game might lose something that made others in the franchise so special.
Personally, I’m okay with the change. I love strategic games, and so having to be more strategic in GTA 6 is an exciting prospect, it’s just… not what I expected from a GTA game, you know?
