Army Unit’s Viral Flyer Offers Soldiers a 4-Day Pass to Re-Enlist. The Reason? GTA 6

The 9th Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia, has announced a new incentive. Those who re-enlist by signing up for more years of service between August 1 and November 14 will get a special 4-day pass. Getting a pass such as this isn’t anything special, but the alleged aim of giving this pass is unheard of.

According to the flyer that Lt. Col. Ryan Hodgson allegedly signed, those who qualify can submit an absence request through the official channels. According to the flyer, this will give the soldiers a 4-day pass that they can utilize to play GTA 6. The flyer specifically states that the special pass is designated to coincide with the release of Rockstar Games’ next project, which will come out on November 19.

The flyer further states that the 4-day pass isn’t a free ticket for just anyone to get time off. Those who want to avail it must also not have been flagged for adverse action and must have met the Army body composition and physical fitness standards at the time.

Neither the 9th Engineer Battalion nor the US Army has confirmed this flyer’s authenticity yet. The flyer was first spotted on the US Army WTF! Moments Instagram page and has gone viral since then on social media. Many are siding with the idea that there is some truth to this flyer because the name mentioned on it does belong to a real Lieutenant Colonel.

Social Media Users Are Divided Over the Alleged GTA 6 Pass

The comments on every post mentioning this alleged GTA 6 pass are fairly divided. Some believe that having people re-enlist with the promise of getting time off to play a video game is bad practice. On the other hand, others state that it gives those who were on the fence an incentive to re-enlist.

While there’s no confirmation that the aforementioned flyer is real, some places of work are actually offering similar incentives to employees. It may be because there are so many similar cases that a good chunk of the internet trusts the flyer’s authenticity.
