Boy Calls Grandma for Food After Mom Allegedly Attacks Him and His Sister

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies were in for a dark day on September 26, when they received a call that two children may be in danger in their own home. Everything started when a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old called their grandmother because they were hungry.

While the hunger was alarming, the grandmother learned about something even more horrifying when she actually went to the children’s home with their mother’s former boyfriend, which prompted them to call the authorities.

When the police reached their home, they found the two children home alone, severely injured and covered in blood. Investigators reported that the children had wounds consistent with being attacked with a knife and a blunt object. When asked, the authorities learned that the children’s 35-year-old mother, Taylor Gosnell, was the one who allegedly attacked them in the early morning when it was still dark.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two children had about 50 combined stab wounds, and that doesn’t even mention the blunt injuries. In particular, the 6-year-old suffered extremely severe injuries that could require him to amputate fingers or even an arm.

Both children were taken to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition. While they’re expected to make a full recovery, additional surgeries are to be expected before they can be out of danger.

The Mother Returned At the Perfect Time

According to the authorities, the mother returned to the house while the emergency response was underway. She was reportedly speaking in an extremely distressed manner, and even attempted to escape the ambulance while she was being taken to an evaluation. Because of this, she had to be handcuffed to a stretcher.

Gosnell was subsequently booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility, where she faces two counts of attempted murder. She was also denied bond at her hearing, which many commenters agree with.

Many comments also discussed the recent court case regarding Lindsay Clancy, saying that it wasn’t a coincidence that this situation happened around the time the case was at its peak in terms of social media virality.
