Ernesto appears to be a rather minor character in GTA 6, judging from the Extended Look. We haven’t seen him yet, but only heard him talking on the phone to Raymond, who runs a drug house. Ernesto is heard telling Raymond that his friends in the task force are on the way, before the police bust in and kill a bunch of Raymond’s guys.

Raymond is heard telling Ernesto that he has always been there for him, and this is what he gets, to which Ernesto responds, “it is what it is, my friend.”

This makes it sound like Ernesto is either an informant to the cops, or he got caught and ratted on Raymond in a plea deal. It could also be that Ernesto used to be Raymond’s partner, but that should be clearer once we get our hands on the game.
