Halloween may be a time for people of all ages to come together and celebrate, but a group of masked men in Oregon allegedly had a different idea. According to the Lincoln City Police Department, the department is investigating multiple reports of a group of masked males allegedly stealing candy baskets directly from children who were trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

The police reportedly received multiple reports from residents about the group, with the suspects being described as wearing all-black clothing and ski masks covering their faces. According to the police, witnesses said that the group was last spotted near Northeast Voyage Avenue and Northeast Port Lane.

According to reports, the masked men specifically target children and forcibly take their baskets. One resident described an alleged encounter involving her daughter, in which the suspects approached her daughter and asked for her candy. The daughter’s uncle called her inside before they could have taken anything. It’s unknown whether this encounter was with the group mentioned in the alleged crime or someone else pulling a prank.

Aside from taking candy from children, the group of masked men reportedly didn’t do anything else. In particular, no one was hurt in the incident, though the police didn’t disclose how many children were affected or the number of suspects involved in everything.

The Lincoln City Police Department made a post on social media talking about the group of masked males, but the post didn’t mention whether any arrests had been made. The department asked any witnesses or victims to call their number if they have any information on the matter.

As for the charges, the post concludes by saying that theft using force is robbery in Oregon. It’s unknown whether the authorities have any more relevant information about the group, especially considering there was barely anything mentioned on the social media post aside from their reported clothing of choice and last-seen location.
