GTA 6 is right on our doorstep, so in an ongoing attempt to answer all your related questions, we’re looking today at whether GTA 6 has dynamic police dispatch.

After lawmen in RDR 2 responded dynamically to crimes committed by the player, it’s a rather obvious question to ask. Here are all the details you need.

In short, yes, police in GTA 6 respond dynamically to crimes, but there’s even more depth to it than what we saw in RDR 2.

First, a crime must be witnessed, then reported to the police either by phone or in person. Once reported, police will have a description of you, whether you’re moving in a group, your vehicle, and potentially even your face, depending on how much the witness saw.

For example, if you were wearing a mask, the police will know you were wearing one, so they’ll be on the lookout for a masked individual. If you remove your mask and change your clothing, police may not recognize you. The same is true for various other indicators, such as your vehicle, whether you’re playing as a couple or alone, etc.

If There are No Witnesses, Will Police be Dispatched?

If you commit a crime in GTA 6 and no one was around to witness it, police will not be dispatched. Similarly, if you commit a crime but weren’t spotted, the crime may still be reported, but the police will have no idea who they are looking for, and you’ll be able to make a fairly clean getaway.

Can we Lose the Cops by Leaving the Area in GTA 6?

Yes, we can lose the cops if we leave the area where a crime was committed, but this depends on the severity of the crime. There is now a Heat system in GTA 6, meaning the cops will search a specific area and may even set up a perimeter. But reportedly, if you manage to get a six-star Wanted Level, the cops won’t cease their search, and the Heat area will be map-wide.

We’re not sure yet how you escape such a high wanted level, and we will update this article once we’ve had some time to experiment after the release of GTA 6.

What is for certain is that the Wanted system in GTA 6 is set to be one of the most advanced we’ve ever seen, and we can’t wait to see what it plays like.
