GTA 6 is a technological leap over both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 and is an exercise in density, whether it’s NPCs, vehicles, or the sheer variety of environments. In addition to populating the world with believable NPCs, Rockstar has heavily focused on adding a wide variety of animals in GTA 6 as well, and it’s hard to find a moment in its trailers or screenshots where a furry critter isn’t scooting by.
Here is every animal we’ve spotted so far in GTA 6’s trailers and official screenshots.
Alligator
It can’t be a Florida-inspired setting without an abundance of alligators out in the wild, roaming the streets, entering stores, and being hunted by poachers. Alligators can be seen several times in the first trailer as well as official Grassiver screenshots.

Beavers
A pair of beavers can be seen in one of the Grassivers screenshots.

Boars
A boar can be seen running off in the second trailer during a chase sequence where Jason is piloting a Buzzard.

Bobcats
A dead bobcat can be seen lying on a bench next to some hunters in one of the Grassrivers screenshots.

Cats
A cat can be seen cleaning itself on an ATM in a store that Jason is walking out of in the second trailer.

Chihuahua
A tiny Chihuahua can be seen running along its owner on Vice Beach in the first trailer.

Cougar / Florida Panther
A cougar can be seen stalking deer in one of the Mount Kalaga National Park screenshots and roaming around a peak in another one.

Cranes
A bunch of cranes can be seen among other water birds like flamingos in the opening shots of the first trailer.

Deer
Deer can be seen in one of the Mount Kalaga National Park screenshots, relaxing and drinking from a stream.

Dobermann
A Dobermann dog is seen sitting next to its owner during the second trailer.

Dolphins
Dolphins can be seen swimming and jumping out of the water in one of the early shots of the first trailer.

Ducks
Ducks are pretty common in both trailers and a Grassivers screenshot, usually swimming in shallow and still water.

Eels
An eel can be seen in a Leonida Keys screenshot featuring an underwater environment.

Flamingos
A flamboyance of flamingos is seen in one of the opening shots of the first trailer.

Foxes
A fox can be seen in one of the screenshots from Mount Kalaga National Park.

Herons
A pair of herons can be seen in one of the Grassrivers screenshots.

Iguanas
Iguanas are seen in multiple screenshots of GTA 6 and throughout the trailer. One of them, outside Jason’s place, can be seen wearing a shirt and reappears in one of Jason’s screenshots. There’s a strong chance that it’s Jason’s pet.

Another iguana can be seen walking down the street in one of the Leonida Keys screenshots.
Pelicans
In one of the opening shots of the first trailer, a brief of pelican can be seen flying over the ocean.

Raccoons
In the second trailer, a raccoon can be seen rummaging through a trash can. Another raccoon can be seen running alongside bikers in one of the screenshots from Mount Kalaga National Park.

Rottweiler
A Rottweiler can be seen sitting next to its owner in one of the Vice City screenshots.

Sea Turtles
A highly detailed Sea Turtle can be seen up close in one of the Leonida Keys screenshots, showcasing an underwater environment.

Seagulls
Multiple seagulls can be seen flying around in both trailers, but we get a good look at the seagull model in one of the Leonida Keys screenshots, where a seagull is sitting on the sign of The Rusty Anchor. Two more seagulls can be seen outside Jason’s place in the second trailer.

Snakes
A pet snake can be seen in a snake enclosure at Jason and Lucia’s place.

Spoonbill
A pair of spoonbills can be seen in one of the Grassrivers screenshots.

Squirrels
A squirrel can be seen on a tree’s bark in one of the Mount Kalaga National Park screenshots.

Tiger Sharks
A shark, potentially a tiger shark, can be seen in one of the opening shots of the first trailer.

That’s everything we’ve been able to spot in both trailers and the many screenshots of GTA 6. Some birds can’t be properly made out, but you can expect pigeons, crows, and other conventional birds to make an appearance in GTA 6. Rockstar has a whole library of mammals, birds, and fish to pull from Red Dead Redemption 2, and we’ve already seen several animals make their way into GTA 6 that way. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s somehow even more variety of fauna in GTA 6 compared to RDR2.
