Most shoplifters tend to stay away from the place they steal from, but that may not have been the case in this incident. A group allegedly stole approximately $1,600 worth of candles from Bath & Body Works on Youree Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. This incident happened on September 16, but things only escalated from there.

Instead of leaving after one heist, the group allegedly returned and gathered 73 candles worth around $1,700. While they were allegedly attempting to get away with these candles as well, they reportedly abandoned them after noticing someone calling the police. Since this was the second time something like this happened, the police decided to take matters to the next level.

Investigators used surveillance footage, license plate reader technology, and other evidence to identify Sha’Erial Anderson and Don’Terrion Wilson as suspects. Just twelve days after the alleged attempted candle robbery, detectives spotted Anderson and Wilson leaving Kohl’s alongside two toddlers. Patrol officers decided to stop their vehicle and arrest them on the spot.

This apparently wasn’t the extent of things, as the police say that Anderson admitted to stealing approximately $121 in clothing from Kohl’s by hiding the items in a diaper bag. Anderson was also linked to an alleged July theft, where the police said that she provided a false identity during that incident. She allegedly stated that she was a 16-year-old juvenile.

Both Were Charged For the Incident

Anderson, being linked to an additional alleged theft as well, was charged on two counts of second-degree robbery, two misdemeanor theft counts, and resisting an officer. On the other hand, Wilson was only charged with one count of second-degree robbery and one misdemeanor theft count.

While Wilson did admit to being present during one candle incident, he reportedly denied sealing the candles himself. He also wasn’t linked to the alleged July incident.

This wasn’t all, as the police also sought two additional suspects. Kenneth Wayne Wilson and Sharonda Andrea Anderson were also allegedly connected with the two Bath & Body Works incidents.
