Video game characters are usually crashing into trees and electrical poles because the players controlling them know there won’t be any consequences. However, 22-year-old Cesar Nicolas Gonzalez seemed to miss the memo because he may have successfully stolen a vehicle, but he reportedly crashed it into a utility pole shortly after.
This incident happened in Laredo, Texas, on September 14, when a woman reported that her Chrysler 300 was stolen from the 2300 block of Baltimore Street. Looking at the rarity of the mentioned car and the distance between the robbery and the crash, it didn’t take a couple of geniuses to realize that the crashed car and the stolen vehicle were the same.

The authorities then arrested Gonzalez at the scene, since there wasn’t really any need for much questioning. After all, authorities also found narcotics in the alleged suspect’s possession, ensuring that he would at least get booked for something. Pair all of this with the fact that he was also recklessly driving before the crash, and it’s hard for commenters not to question his thought process.
KGNS – TV 8 was among the first to get to this story, though the response was as one would expect. Most started laughing at the absurdity of the situation, with many even saying that it sounded like someone didn’t drive in Grand Theft Auto much growing up.

Charges Filed After Alleged Stolen-Car Crash
Gonzalez practically gave himself to the authorities on a silver platter. Because of this, it makes sense that he was booked into Webb County Jail on several charges. These charges include theft of property valued between $1,500 and $20,000, possession of a controlled substance under one gram, and damaging a fixture or highway landscape.
Not to mention, Gonzalez was also booked for reckless driving, though there’s a good chance that this crime may be the least of his worries. Even the mugshot makes many wonder whether the alleged thief was in the right state of mind.
