A home in Burien, Washington, was the target of a burglary last month. According to the police, the deputies tracked a stolen car that was linked to the crime using information from a Flock camera. Robbing houses seemingly wasn’t the only thing the suspected burglar learned from the GTA games, because he led the police on a wild pursuit.

The car also had a passenger along for the ride, as the chase went from SeaTac to Tukwila. Some of the officers may have thought that the suspect was close to giving up when he pulled in front of Tukwila Fire Station 51. Instead, he backed up and jumped the curb before driving across the grass.

This off-road endeavor led the stolen car through a filled neighborhood. It sped between two houses, smashed through a fence, and ultimately crashed between a bunch of bushes. The passenger was quickly apprehended with little to no resistance. But the actual suspect wasn’t as cooperative.

K9 Axel worked alongside a Tukwila Police Department K9 unit to search for and detain the suspect who had exited the car. After scouring the bushy area, they found the alleged robber hiding in a shed behind a house in SeaTac. After a quick check from the fire department and a trip to the hospital, the suspect was sent to the King County Jail.

The Wild Chase Had Viewers Talking

The comment section of the video on the King County Sheriff’s Office Facebook account was divided. Some commenters asked if anyone could access the data collected by Flock cameras, while others praised the officials for such a clean job. Most of the comments thanked the officers and their canine companions for showing restraint.

One comment alleged that the suspect in the burglary and chase had his bail set at $8,000. According to him, prosecutors had asked for $100,000. The commenter highlighted that the perpetrator has multiple felonies already and put multiple lives at risk.

No follow-ups have been made by the King County Sheriff’s Office Facebook account. The general consensus is seemingly that the suspect was let off too easily, both in and out of court.
