Twitch Forced xQc to Remove His GTA 6 VOD While Other Streamers’ Reactions Stayed Up

It isn’t a stretch to say that GTA 6’s extended look was the only thing the entire internet was talking about for a good 48 hours. Naturally, multiple streamers reacted to the newly revealed gameplay, including big names like Asmongold and Kai Cenat. What sets these streamers apart from xQc is that Twitch apparently forced only xQc to remove his GTA 6 VOD.

While streaming on Twitch, xQc mentioned that Twitch’s rules apparently apply to him more than they do to others. He said that the rules apply to him “at the absolute full force,” which is why the GTA 6 VOD was removed. According to xQc, it was annoying that he got “absolutely zero” money from the VOD.

Interestingly enough, the streamer stated that he got a message “from the top” to remove the VOD instead of it just getting taken down. While fans speculated this may have been because the streamer received a DMCA notice, xQc reacted more than some other streamers who still had their VODs up at the time.

xQc continued by saying that anyone would be annoyed if they didn’t make any money from the “biggest announcement of the year.” The streamer’s annoyance was clear when he advised new creators to “break all the rules” because there’s a good chance that Twitch wouldn’t do anything to them.

Twitch Eventually Put xQc’s GTA 6 VOD Back Online

Fortunately for xQc, this scuffle with Twitch ultimately ended well for him. The streamer decided to ask his mods to put the VOD back up, even if there’s a chance that he could get banned. It’s unknown if anyone reached out to the streamer to talk to him about the issue, but the VOD itself is now available for anyone to watch on his channel.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Twitch let the VOD go up because of the backlash the company received. Many were quick to call out the platform for not treating every creator the same, especially since multiple streamers who also reacted to GTA 6’s extended look still had their VODs up.
