Like them or not, collectibles have been a staple of Rockstar games, appearing in some form throughout the GTA series and the studio’s other titles. GTA 6’s scope and level of interactivity are beyond anything we’ve seen from Rockstar, so it’s no surprise that there are things to collect throughout its massive open world. Here’s everything we know about collectibles in GTA 6.
Will GTA 6 Have Collectibles?
Yes, like previous GTA titles, GTA 6 will also have collectibles.
During the July 2026 preview event at Rockstar North, several creators and outlets were invited to get a closer look at GTA 6 and confirm various details about the upcoming title and its world. Brazilian creator Davy Jones had an extensive session with Rob Nelson and confirmed that GTA 6 will feature collectibles spread throughout Leonida, including magazines and comic books.
Rob Nelson also confirmed that fishing is as detailed as Red Dead Redemption 2, but you can’t keep the fish you catch. Instead, the activity features its own challenges and collectibles.

We also know that players can study wildlife, just like in Red Dead Redemption 2, and keep a checklist of all discovered animals. While not explicitly a collectible, it’s part of the completionist aspect that requires players to seek out individual wildlife across Leonida’s many regions.
Finally, there are several other activities in GTA 6 that involve finding or collecting things. Players can explore underwater areas, including shipwrecks, to search for treasure, while the game also features a Classic Car Collection involving project vehicles. These are separate from the confirmed collectibles, magazines, and comic books, however.
GTA 5 featured several collectible sets scattered throughout Los Santos and Blaine County, including 50 Spaceship Parts, 50 Letter Scraps, 30 Nuclear Waste barrels, and 30 Submarine Pieces. The Enhanced version later added Monkey Mosaics and Peyote Plants. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 also has a wide range of collectibles and collection-based activities, including Dinosaur Bones, Cigarette Cards, Rock Carvings, Dreamcatchers, Legendary Fish, Exotic items, and Hunting Requests.
Red Dead Redemption 2 also had side quests tied to specific collectibles, which naturally wove them into the game world rather than simply placing them around the map for players to find.
For GTA 6, I’m hoping collectibles are more trackable and approachable, like in Red Dead Redemption 2, with enough different types to encourage players to explore every corner of Leonida.
