Florida Man Escapes Hospital, Carjacks Woman and Hits 85 MPH During Police Chase

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office took 35-year-old Jordan Eugene Brown to the Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah for an involuntary mental-health evaluation. While this was done under Florida’s Baker Act, the authorities likely didn’t expect Brown to reportedly escape from the hospital on the same day when no one was looking.

Still wearing the same green hospital scrub pants and no shirt at all, Brown allegedly ran into the hospital parking lot and pulled a woman out of her black Nissan Sentra. He then drove off, prompting a chase to ensure. The woman also suffered minor injuries and bruising, suggesting that Brown was less than gentle with her.

While it took a while, the authorities finally found the Nissan on the road and attempted to stop it. Brown didn’t want to stop, as he ran multiple stop signs and drove into oncoming traffic. This isn’t all, as he struck two Miami-Dade Schools Police vehicles and even reportedly drove in reverse at one point before colliding with an FHP vehicle.

All the while, the authorities tried to stop him by attempting multiple PIT maneuvers, but the first three were total faults. Brown eventually reached approximately 85 MPH in a 35 MPH zone before a fourth PIT maneuver finally spun the Nissan off the road. The deputies were quick to bolt to the vehicle and pull Brown from the vehicle through the window. While he was still shirtless, barefoot, and wearing the hospital pants, at least the incident had finally wrapped up.

Brown Now Faces Multiple Charges

Looking at the insane rampage Brown caused, it makes sense that he would face multiple charges. These charges include burglary with assault or battery, robbery/carjacking, battery, fleeing and eluding, aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, aggravated assault on an officer, and resisting an officer.

The alleged perpetrator was booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on the same day as everything happened. Not to mention, aerial footage of the actual pursuit has also circulated on the internet, ensuring that even those who may have missed the news will likely come across the video at some point if they follow the right channels.
