Florida Man Runs Through Home Depot Parking Lot Before Police Dog Takes Him Down

Polk County deputies went looking for 36-year-old Christopher Chapman on September 21, 2026. The reason for this is that Chapman had an active warrant involving allegations including leaving the scene of a crash, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license, and failing to register as a career offender. It’s safe to say that things were stacked against the alleged suspect.

However, according to reports, Chapman allegedly started running away when the deputies confronted him. In particular, he ran through the Home Depot parking lot, which a bunch of commenters found understandably amusing.

The deputies had no choice but to chase after Chapman while repeatedly ordering him to stop. They even warned him that they would release a police dog if he continued running, but there’s a good chance that Chapman figured he had already gone far enough to see things through at that point.

Since Champan allegedly continued to run, the authorities released their K9 Reno. Reno comfortably caught up to Champan and bit him to bring him down onto the asphalt. This finally ended the weird Home Depot chase, letting the police arrest Champan. Naturally, he had to go to the local hospital for treatment before he could be booked into the Polk County Jail.

Commenters Couldn’t Help But Find This Odd

There’s no shortage of humorous crimes being done all over the world, but this one was just plain odd. According ot multiple commenters, it’s funny to picture the alleged suspect running through the Home Depot parking lot, especially since it’s such a mundane location where so many usually go.

Not to mention, Chapman’s identity has seemingly been mixed up because of multiple publications. The fact that he’s called Chatman in some places instead of Chapman just makes the whole thing even funnier for many.
