Rockstar has released two trailers at the time of writing, and this article will be updated promptly once additional trailers arrive. We anticipate at least one more, but that number could increase as we enter the final stretch, with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick having said that GTA 6 marketing will kick off in earnest in the summer of 2026.

Without further ado, here’s a breakdown of the trailers as well as fun facts on each.

All Trailer 1 Details and Easter Eggs

Let’s start with Trailer One, and break down the trailer itself with a short transcript summary, and then dive into the easter eggs and references that have been spotted by keen-eyed viewers in the trailers.

Trailer 1 Summary

We get our first official glimpse of the Vice City setting, and we meet Lucia, who seems to be talking to a prison counselor. We see some more of the gorgeous Vice City and surroundings, plus vehicles, tons of NPCs, and more characters that are set to appear in GTA 6.

We see Lucia in a bikini, a man pulling an alligator from a pool, and a woman twerking on the roof of a moving car. We see what appears to be a car meet, potentially indicating some illegal racing, and an alligator walking into a cafe.

Then we get a glimpse of some action, with police breaking down a door and then chasing a rather large man in a skimpy swimsuit. We see more of the locals, including a man watering his garden in a thong and a group of people who look as though they’ve been mud-wrestling.

A lady with hammers in both hands then says, “Well, look who’s back” in a pretty funny, fourth-wall-breaking moment. We are, indeed, back.

There’s a wild party, and then we see Jason and Lucia running from the cops, while Lucia says, “The only way we’re going to get through this is by sticking together.” We see a news report of a man with a tattooed face, people on dirt bikes, and then a news report titled “dirt-bike dirt-bags” with cops attempting to stop the bikers.

We see another random character, and then Jason and Lucia, wearing masks, entering a store. They then tear around a corner in what appears to be a red Declasse Tulip. They then share an intimate moment where Lucia says “Trust” before Jason repeats it.

We then cut to a shot of the masked duo kicking open a store’s doors and pointing guns. We get the logo, and the trailer ends.

  • The state’s name, Leonida, is a potential reference to the Spanish explorer who first found the state of Florida, Juan Ponce de León.
  • The alligator that enters the store is based on an actual event where an alligator entered a Walmart.
  • Piswasser Beer, the well-known GTA beer brand, returns with a non-alcoholic version in GTA 6.
  • The woman duel-wielding hammers could be a reference to a real-life case, and while it sounds like something that would happen in Florida, this happened in Los Angeles.
  • The man with the tattooed face and purple hair, dubbed the Leonida Joker, is a reference to another real-life case of the Florida Joker, a man with a similarly tattooed face and green hair.

Trailer 2 Details and Easter Eggs

Trailer two is longer and contains more info than the first. As usual, let’s start with a transcript summary of the trailer.

Trailer 2 Transcription

The trailer starts with a run-down beach house, and we see our protagonist, Jason Duval, on the roof, working and sweaty. Another character, Brian Heder, approaches and asks, “What are you doing up there?” to which Jason responds, “Just fixing some leaks.”

Brian then says, “Seriously, dude, if you got some time on your hands, I got some properties with paying tenants.” Jason responds, “That’s why you came by?” and Brian says, “Just go get me my checks!” as he climbs back into his truck.

Jason, having climbed off the roof, responds with “See you, Brian. Love you, Jason,” and walks back into his home, showing off his impressive physique. This tells us that Jason views Brian as family, or might even be family.

We then see Jason driving in a vehicle, and a lady on the side of the road yells, “Hi Jason!” which makes Jason snicker a bit. Jason then slaps a guy and takes money from a cash register. We see him driving on the highway as a plane zooms past, showing off some of Vice City, as well.

A couple of girls then stop to watch as he lifts weights on the beach, and then it cuts to him leaving a store with a six-pack of beers in hand. He then drives past a scene where cops seem to have apprehended suspects.

We cut to a prison, where Jason says to a reception guard, “I’m here for Lucia Caminos; she’s supposed to be getting out.” The guard turns and asks for his name, which he gives.

The guard then asks, “Have I seen you here before?” to which Jason replies, “You might’ve.”

We cut to Lucia walking out of the prison, and they greet each other with an uncertain “hey,” indicating, perhaps, some emotional overwhelm at finally getting to see each other without bars in the way again. Then we get text on the screen reading “Rockstar Games Presents.”

We then see an intimate moment between Jason and Lucia as they roll on a bed, kissing.

Lucia then holds up a number of what seem to be bank employees with an MP5 while wearing a mask. Jason, also in a mask and also with an MP5-inspired weapon, grabs a man by his shirt and drags him over, saying, “You, stay.”

It switches back to the inmate moment, and then to Jason and Lucia sitting outside a bar, beers in hand. Jason says, “To new beginnings,” and they clink bottles. We then see them sitting on a dock, with Lucia mocking Jason and giving him a playful shoulder bump.

We then see some guys loading a plane at night, presumably with illegal substances of some kind; then Lucia is spotted doing community service before it switches to her and Jason in an apartment, while she says, “Trust me, this place is just the start for us.” It switches to Cal Hampton, another confirmed character, in a bar, yelling “ring the bells,” while making a circular motion with his finger in the air.

We then see Jason and Lucia sitting in the bar next to Cal while he continues, “shots, baby!”

It cuts to shots of Jason and Lucia while she says, “The only thing that matters is who you know, and what you got.” They cut to the couple sitting in a car, and Jason says, “If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right.”

It cuts to scenes of them in a nightclub, dancing, before cutting to an unknown character standing up in front of Jason and saying, “Yo, D, this full effect?”

We cut to other random characters, then to Jason helping Lucia to escape through a window while a helicopter circles above. Brian’s voice says, “They got your name, address; they got everything,” during which it cuts to him and Jason talking, then it cuts to tactical policemen conducting a raid.

One of them, in a conversation with another police member, says, “Us cops, we gotta protect each other.”

It then cuts to Jason firing from a car window with a pistol, and then we see Bae-Luxe, one of the Real Dimez members, holding her fingers up like a gun and making shooting sounds.

A few scenes then play in quick succession: Jason and Lucia dancing, Jason throwing a man into a car, Lucia kicking someone in an MMA cage, and then Jason loading a gun and Lucia on the couch while Jason says, “You and me, we got this,” to which Lucia replies, “We got this.”

There’s an explosion as Lucia shoots at a cop car with a grenade launcher, and Jason and Dre’Quan Priest react to something on a phone with a “whoa.” Lucia fights someone on a plane, a truck speeds by with a safe chained to it, and we’re back to Jason and Lucia’s intimate moment on the bed.

Another unknown character then says, “Say Vice City, baby,” while taking a selfie of him, Jason, and Lucia in a club.

We then see some people taking a photo on the street with a bunch of cars lined up on the road behind them. We then cut to a party at a house, and then to a dancer in what looks like a strip club.

We then see a television with an Ammunation ad running. We see on a table in front of the TV a gaming controller, an empty beer bottle, and a full beer bottle with condensation on the glass (nice detail). The scene shifts, and we see that it’s Jason lying on the sofa watching TV while Lucia comes home from work and goes to lie on his chest.

It cuts to a helicopter chasing an airboat across a swampy area, then Jason and Lucia are riding on a Jet Ski, then Jason is driving a bike as a plane flies close overhead.

We then see Lucia jumping from a bike onto the back of a truck that contains a supercar, then Lucia and Jason are back in an apartment or motel room, and Lucia jumps onto Jason, and he catches her, in what appears to be a celebratory moment.

We then see people on a speedboat shooting at a police helicopter. It cuts to a night scene with a dirt bike, and then Lucia is driving a car while Jason jumps into it on the move, police sirens wailing in the background.

Cal then appears in a hangar, saying, “If you got friends, can you hook me up, please?”

Then we see the red Tulip from Trailer One driving along a street with Lucia laughing in the background, a beautiful sunset lighting the scene. Then the GTA 6 logo appears with the outdated release date of May 26, 2025.

That ends the trailer.

Trailer 2 Fun facts

  • Some think that the man in the Ammunation ad is Phil Cassidy, the legend that appeared in GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and both Liberty City and Vice City stories; however, Rockstar has confirmed that the HD and 3D universes are separate, so it’s likely this character is only inspired by Phil.
  • Jason can be seen working out on the beach, at a location inspired by the real-world Muscle Beach, which also appeared in GTA 5. Since the real Muscle Beach is in California, it’s likely that this location is – and hang on to your brain here – inspired by a Miami location that was, in turn, inspired by the real-life Muscle Beach. Yeah, that makes sense.
  • Jason’s apartment has a snake enclosure, which could hint at us being able to own pets in GTA 6, which would be totally pointless, but a cool addition nonetheless.
  • At the start of Trailer Two, Jason says, “Just fixing some leaks,” to Brian, which is a really funny reference to the huge 2022 GTA 6 leaks and a few subsequent minor leaks.

Trailer 3 Details and Easter Eggs

Trailer Three has not been directly confirmed by Rockstar as of yet, but it’s rather obvious that we will be getting another trailer or two before the game’s launch. As soon as we receive official confirmation from official sources, we’ll update this section.

This website is under construction, so expect regular updates as we go along.
