GTA 6 Pre Orders Could Go Live on May 18 Following Best Buy Affiliate Slip

Several Best Buy affiliates and creators are claiming they received emails related to GTA 6 pre-orders, with the timing allegedly set between May 18 and May 21.

The reports started after streamer Frogboyx1Gaming shared an alleged email from Best Buy online, detailing a timeline for GTA 6 pre-orders along with the affiliate compensation percentage.

Update: on Monday, 18 May, a user with apparent access to internal company emails in Best Buy reported that the dates were in error, and that pre-orders would no go live during the stated timeline.

Shortly after, several users and accounts on Reddit, GTAForums, and social media later claimed they received the same message as well. Here’s a screenshot of the tweet from Cheap Ass Gamer, a very prolific deals account on X:

Multiple screenshots, livestream footage of said email, and images showing the Best Buy sender address have also surfaced online, suggesting the emails may have been accidentally sent out early. Here are some of the major ones:

Unlike Reddit predictions and people tracking moon movements, this actually feels like a major slip-up from Best Buy, and we could see GTA 6’s third trailer debut next week alongside pre-orders opening.
