One of the many smashed car door windows

Individual cars being burglarized is unfortunately nothing new. However, residents of The Corinthian Apartments in Northwest Miami-Dade experienced a mass burglary when they woke up on September 3, 2026. This happened despite the apartments being in a gated community that prides itself on its security.

Burglars reportedly smashed their way into around 20 cars overnight and took off with any valuables they could get their hands on. Fortunately for the residents, cameras captured the shattered windows and ransacked car interiors, prompting the authorities to get involved. They started knocking on the doors of the residents at around 4 am to inform them of the unfortunate news.

Multiple residents walked to the parking lot to find that their vehicles had been broken into. Glass and the belongings of the residents were on the floor, resulting in understandable shock. Fortunately for them, the authorities got to work as soon as they could, as they checked the vehicles for any type of evidence.

With all of this being said, the authorities haven’t been able to determine who could have committed this crime. It’s unknown whether it was just one person or an entire team, and while the authorities did attempt to look for evidence at the scene of the crime, they didn’t find anything that could reliably trace them to any suspects.

Authorities Could Offer $5,000 Reward for Information

The residents of the apartment were the real victims in all of this. While most only had some of their valuables taken, a handful of them reported that they had sentimental possessions damaged, including a child’s backpack that had fallen onto the wet ground.

Because of the lack of reliable information, local authorities decided to ask for some help. Those with any knowledge about who could have committed this crime could be eligible for up to $5,000 as a reward.
