The streaming industry is constantly evolving, but the Streamer Awards have been a cornerstone for years. Organized by QTCinderella, this annual award show aims to celebrate the best streamers and streaming-related achievements of the year, even if the community is somewhat divided on it.
While the 2026 Streamer Awards were going to take place in November, that won’t be the case this year. QTCinderella was participating in Ludwig’s Streamer Games when the topic of the Streamer Awards came up. While speaking with fellow streamer Agent, QTCinderella revealed that the award show was delayed this year.
QTCinderella reveals to Agent that she’s postponed the 2026 Streamer Awards as she didn’t want to host it at the same time as GTA 6 being released 😭👀 pic.twitter.com/Y1NMc8Ypc4

According to her, the 2026 Streamer Awards were originally scheduled for November 17. But the event’s date clashed with the release date of GTA 6, which is expected to be a cultural phenomenon. Because of this, the Streamer Awards were moved to December 6, though no handles of QT or the Streamer Awards have officially made the announcement yet.

Still, QTCinderella organizes and usually hosts the event, so it makes sense that her word is law. The event was originally moved forward from its usual December slot to November because of QT’s personal issues. She stated that she’d miss out on Christmas and Thanksgiving because of the event’s preparations, but having it compete with GTA would basically be her asking for the Streamer Awards to fail.
GTA 6 Is Already Changing the Streaming Calendar
Grand Theft Auto 6 will likely be the most-streamed game when it comes out. The top gaming streamers usually stay ahead of the curve by being the first to stream large games. The best examples of this would be Ninja with Fortnite and TimTheTatman with Fall Guys. There’s no doubt that many streamers will be trying to do this with GTA 6.
Having to travel and attend the Streamer Awards would likely make a dent in the schedule of many streamers. Considering how close the original date of the event was to GTA’s release date, many streamers may have chosen to stream the game from their homes instead of attending the event.
Kai Cenat has already stated that he would be streaming GTA 6 when it comes out and attempting to complete the entire game in one marathon stream. Kai has had a constant presence in the Streamer Awards, so it would make sense for QTCinderella to want to ensure he can attend. It isn’t a stretch to say that GTA 6 is already affecting the streaming world, even if the game isn’t out yet.
