Devolver Digital Is the Only Publisher Not Afraid of GTA 6’s Release Date

As of writing, November 19, 2026, remains the release date for GTA 6, and Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, continues to reassure investors and fans that the game is on track. While major publishers and developers are scrambling to avoid launching their titles anywhere near November, Devolver Digital is doing the exact opposite. Not only is the publisher releasing a game in November, but it plans to launch it on the very same day as GTA 6.

This all started in March 2026, when Devolver Digital announced on X that it would release a game on the same date as GTA 6.

Since then, the publisher has continued updating the status of this mysterious title with every GTA 6 delay.

When Rockstar confirmed the move to November 19, 2026, Devolver Digital quickly reiterated that its game would launch on the new date as well.

Responding to Kotaku’s coverage of the increasingly crowded September and October release schedule, and the industry’s apparent fear of going anywhere near GTA 6, Devolver Digital once again took to X and quoted the article with a simple response: “Not every publisher.”

Devolver Digital is well known for its social media antics and unconventional showcase presentations, so this isn’t exactly out of character. That said, whatever game the publisher plans to release on GTA 6’s launch day would have to be something special, even if the whole thing is ultimately a joke. I’m not saying Hotline Miami 3 is dropping on November 19, but maybe it is?
