We finally have almost all the information we could possibly want on the GTA 6 weather system, including the fact that hurricanes and tropical storms will be a thing in the game. Scary, right?

But if you’re still wondering whether GTA 6 will have dynamic weather events, wonder no more. This article will answer all your questions.

Does GTA 6 Have Dynamic Weather?

Yes, GTA 6 will feature dynamic weather, as confirmed by Owen Shepherd, vice president of art for lighting and rendering at Rockstar. In an interview with Game Informer, Shepherd confirmed that weather will be dynamic and even interact with the world. Clouds will roll across the map just like in real life, as will storms.

This means that spotting a heavy cloud on the horizon isn’t just a visual treat; it’s an actual cloud that could be moving in your direction. Gone are the days of the game flipping a background switch, and suddenly clouds form, and rain begins to pour. Actual weather systems will occur, including “real” wind in-game, and rainwater dynamically reacting to the world.

In heavy storms, rain will gush from rooftops and persistent puddles will form. If you enter an area after a storm or heavy rainfall, you’ll be able to tell it was just raining without even looking to the skies.

This is a huge leap forward for gaming, and it blows my mind. With all the systems in GTA 6, plus vehicle and NPC density, it’s a miracle the game will even run at 30fps on the base PS5.
