Rockstar has unleashed a veritable flood of information after the Extended Look, and we can finally answer a lot of the burning questions about GTA 6. One of those questions: Will GTA 6 have romance?
Let’s dive right in.
Will GTA 6 Have Romance?
Yes, GTA 6 will feature romance, as confirmed by Rob Nelson, Head of Development and Co-Studio Head at Rockstar North. It was confirmed during the previews that there will be a romance element between Jason and Lucia. You can go on dates and make various decisions that will affect the relationship in a manner of ways.
Another reliable source for this information is TGG’s video on the subject.

Thankfully, Rockstar is pro player-choice, so we’ll be able to decide whether to pursue and nurture this romance or not. Ignore it, and Jason and Lucia can even break up, but this appears to have no effect on the partnership. They’ll stay partners in crime, though, for story purposes.
This is unconfirmed, but it may actually affect the ending, as I cover in my article on whether GTA 6 has multiple endings. It’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t, isn’t it?
Can You Romance Other Characters in GTA 6?

I haven’t seen any verifiable information on this online so far, so we’ll have to rely on what we know from older GTA games. In that frame, the most likely answer is no.
In GTA 4, there was an element of romance with the dating system, but in GTA 5, that mostly fell away in favor of more of a booty call system. Not exactly romance. We might get something similar to this in GTA 6 if we opt to not pursue Jason and Lucia’s romance, but it’s unconfirmed, and we’ll have to wait for launch to know for sure.

Kyle first stumbled upon GTA back in 1998 on a school computer, and has been hooked ever since. After missing Vice City, he has not missed another title in the GTA universe. He strongly believes that GTA 4 is still the best, and hopes that GTA 6 can finally dethrone that 18-year-old game.
