We’re only a few hours away from the Extended Look at GTA 6, and Netflix has released a new press release ahead of the event with an important technical detail. The statement confirms that the entire Extended Look was captured using in-game footage on Sony’s PlayStation 5.
GTA 6 Extended Look Confirms PS5 as the Capture Platform
GTA 6 is launching on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series S|X consoles on November 19, 2026. Ahead of Netflix’s exclusive early look at GTA 6, the company has confirmed that the entire Extended Look was captured using in-game footage on a PS5.
Netflix does not mention the PS5 Pro, suggesting that the footage was captured on a regular PS5 rather than Sony’s more powerful console.
This is consistent with Trailer 2, which Rockstar also confirmed last year was captured entirely on a PS5.

Again, there was no mention of the PS5 Pro, even though it has been confirmed that GTA 6 will support the console’s enhancements. Rockstar still hasn’t revealed the exact details of that support and what performance and visual improvements will be available on the PS5 Pro. While GTA 6 is also coming to both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, Rockstar has once again chosen to debut a major reveal on Sony hardware. PlayStation has enjoyed a strong marketing relationship with Rockstar throughout the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 eras, and GTA 6 appears to be continuing that trend. While this doesn’t necessarily indicate any major difference between the PlayStation and Xbox versions, it does highlight the strength of the partnership between Rockstar and Sony.
For now, we’ll have to wait a few more hours to see exactly what Rockstar has prepared. Netflix subscribers will get their first look at 3 PM ET, followed by the wider release through Rockstar’s official channels. Netflix also confirmed the presentation will be available globally on the platform and will include subtitles in multiple languages, including English, German, Spanish, LATAM Spanish, Polish, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian
