Can You Register A Stolen Vehicle in Your Name in GTA 6?

GTA 6 is set up to be quite a realistic game. We’ll have a fuel system, detailed vehicle security systems, and fences for selling stolen vehicles. No longer can we just dump a vehicle at LS Customs to sell it for a few bucks.

But that begs the question: what if you like a particular vehicle? Can you transfer it to your name in-game and have it available as a personal vehicle? Let’s explore.

The short answer is yes, you can do this, but it’s unlikely to be cheap. You’ll have to save up some money before you can transfer a vehicle to your name in GTA 6, and the higher the value of the car, the higher that cost will no doubt be.

But stealing cars has also become more complicated in GTA 6. Drivers and their passengers will fight you for the vehicle now, and some may even be carrying concealed weapons that could end the fight quickly if you’re not alert. Vehicle security systems are more complex, too. You won’t be able to spawn in and immediately go steal a parked supercar to transfer it to your name.

You’ll need the right tools, which will unlock through your progression through the game.

These tools will likely cost a pretty penny, too, so you’ll likely need to commit plenty of robberies in order to save up the money. Even then, the higher-tier robberies will cost money to set up, too, so we’re in for quite the grind in GTA 6.

All of this has mostly been confirmed through the GTA 6 previews we’ve seen so far. To know exactly what all these systems look like, however, we’ll have to wait for the full release and experience them for ourselves. For example, I think that losing the cops in GTA 6 will be more difficult than in previous games, but until we’ve run from them ourselves, it’s hard to know for sure.

Personal Vehicles of Your Choice

What thrills me most about vehicles in GTA 6 is that we actually get to choose what car we drive — money willing, of course. Never again will we be stuck with an awful, slow truck like Trevor’s, or that silly Declasse Premiere that Michael was forced to drive for what felt like an eternity.

It’s a good thing, too, since we know how much more complex stealing vehicles will be in GTA 6.
