Stealing vehicles in GTA 6 is going to be a whole new challenge, and you may have heard some rumors flying around with all the info Rockstar has revealed to us over the last few weeks.

In this article, we’ll take a look at whether vehicles in GTA 6 will have trackers, and look at a few relevant articles based on your next questions.

Do GTA 6 Vehicles Have Trackers?

Yes, some vehicles in GTA 6 will have tracking systems installed as an additional layer of security. It’s definitely not all vehicles, though, as confirmed during the course of the GTA previews by TGG’s time at Rockstar North with co-studio head Rob Nelson.

You’ll be able to scan the vehicle using a new GTA 6 app called WAINK, which will reveal all the vehicle security systems present. You’ll also be able to remove vehicle trackers in GTA 6 before the cops catch you if you play it smart enough. Expect a more detailed guide as soon as we can get our hands on the game.

There are several other vehicle security systems, too, including electronic keys (like those used in keyless entry systems), which should make stealing vehicles far more interesting than in previous games. You’ll also need to be on your guard if you go the hijacking route, since in GTA 6, NPCs may have concealed weapons on them, and passengers will also fight you for control of the vehicle instead of just sitting there, screaming.

Fences, Pay ‘n Sprays, and Specific Vehicle Workshops

In GTA 5, all we had was Los Santos Customs. This mod shop catered to all our vehicle modification needs. GTA Online eventually got several more, including Benny’s Motorworks, Hao’s Special Works, and Imani Tech for various upgrades and heavy modifications.

GTA 6 will have several workshops right off the bat, and while it seems like fences will be the ones to remove trackers, there’s a chance we might find another workshop capable of doing so.

But for confirmation, we’ll need to spend some time in GTA 6, and we’re not quite there yet.
