Like previous GTA titles, you’ll be stealing, modifying, and driving all kinds of personal and stolen vehicles in GTA 6. While these systems are more involved this time around, repairing a damaged vehicle is fairly straightforward. Here’s how you can repair vehicles in GTA 6.
Repairing Vehicles in GTA 6
There are multiple ways to repair personal and stolen vehicles in GTA 6:
- Gas Stations: In addition to refueling your vehicle, you can also repair it at a gas station.
- Pay ’n’ Spray: Pay ’n’ Sprays let you repair your vehicle, change its basic color, and lose the cops.
- Specialized Car Fences: You can repair stolen vehicles before selling them to a car fence for a better payout.
Every confirmed vehicle repair method is simple and should be accessible early on.
It’s not yet confirmed whether you can repair vehicles at mod shops, but it’s a strong possibility. GTA 5 and GTA Online both let you repair vehicles at various modification shops, so the feature could return in GTA 6. Each mod shop offers unique vehicle modifications, but Rob Nelson confirmed that they all share some basic features. We don’t know exactly what those are yet, but vehicle repairs seem like a reasonable bet, especially since you typically need to repair a damaged vehicle before modifying it in GTA 5 and GTA Online.

Repair costs in GTA 6 haven’t been confirmed yet, though previous games have generally charged more to repair heavily damaged vehicles. It’s also unclear whether the cost will vary depending on where you get your vehicle repaired. Also, if you’re looking to sell stolen vehicles, the value will decrease if it isn’t in good condition.

Driving recklessly and getting into trouble is a core part of the GTA experience, but your personal vehicle is especially important this time around, serving as a mobile inventory of sorts with weapons, clothing, and accessories loadouts. Having multiple ways to repair vehicles should make it easier to keep them in good condition as you explore Leonida, plan robberies, and run into heat. Despite the focus on realism and higher immersion this time around, some things have to be kept simple and intuitive, and that applies to vehicle repairs as well.
