Fake Social Media Post Suggests GTA 6 ‘Extended Look’ Will be 30 Minutes Long

Rockstar once again blew up the internet on Thursday, 6 August, by finally giving us more scraps on GTA 6. This time, we got an announcement revealing the date for a brand-new “extended look” at GTA 6. Popular GTA YouTuber TGG was hosting a stream when the news dropped, which revealed some more potentially exciting news.

In a reply to Synth Potato, user @ramganesan07 posted a supposed screenshot displaying this GTA 6 extended look’s run time, which clocks in at 30 minutes and six seconds. TGG was rightfully excited, as were we, having just speculated on whether this might be a 30-minute affair.

Naturally, we all went to check our Netflix to make sure, and indeed, this seems to have been a fake. Netflix has not shown the runtime of the actual extended trailer just yet.

Although it could be fun to speculate on how long it might actually be. The fact that it’s on Netflix definitely suggests that there may be some serious length to it. A full feature-length film? Probably not. Even 30 minutes is certainly pushing it. But you never know with Rockstar. Strauss Zelnick said the summer marketing would blow our minds, and 27 August is just in time, if any summer mind-blowing is to happen.

My personal take is that it comes in around the 10-15 minute ballpark. That’s still seriously long for a trailer, and it could well mean we get a look at tons of new gameplay elements, including potentially a sneak peek at GTA 6 Online.

How long do you think the trailer will be? And will we indeed be getting a first look at the online feature, so far in advance?

The GTA 6 Extended Look is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, 27 August, 2026 at 3pm ET, so make sure you don’t miss it. GTA 6 is still set to launch on 19 November, 2026, which is just over three months away now. It’s closing in.
