GTA 5 Smashes 230 Million Sales While Red Dead Redemption 2 Gallops Past 85 Million

Take-Two Interactive has shared updated sales figures for the biggest franchises in its May 2026 investor presentation on May 22, 2026. GTA 5 has now sold in nearly 230 million units worldwide across multiple platforms, with the series surpassing 470 million units sold.

Take-Two also highlighted that GTA 5 remains the best-selling game of the past decade in the U.S. based on both unit and dollar sales, making it the most successful entry in the series by a landslide. Meanwhile, the Red Dead Redemption 2 sales milestone has climbed past 85 million units sold, closing in on that 100 million mark, with the overall Red Dead Redemption series reaching nearly 115 million units worldwide.

Take-Two reiterated that GTA 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, and they announced that Trailer 2’s cross-platform debut was the biggest video launch ever at the time, with over 475 million views in 24 hours.
